German independent consulting group active in the fields of Energy, Environment, Infrastructure and Information Technology.

With the support of the Fichtner Group, the size and number of projects that can be carried out is considerable, as it has a permanent team of over 2,200 people. These include highly qualified and experienced engineers and scientists in various disciplines, such as civil engineering, geology, hydrology, biology, process engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and control engineering.

Quality and Compliance

The high level of our services stems from a demanding quality policy and continuous innovation, which are inherent to our sector. Fichtner Resa always strives for excellence in the services it provides. Through our Compliance Management System (CMS), we implement the appropriate measures within the company to comply with both legal requirements and our voluntary commitments. At an organizational level, compliance is incorporated into our Integrated Management System (IMS) and our company’s practices and procedures.

Business Sectors

Our activities in the environmental sector date back to 1986 and have evolved in parallel with the development of Spanish and European environmental legislation and environmental technologies.

Over the years, Fichtner Resa has been involved in numerous projects in a variety of roles, from planning to site management and performance testing. Therefore, it is able to efficiently manage the great complexity of these projects, where at the same time as technological and economic aspects are analysed, the context and, therefore, the social and legal aspects must be taken into consideration.

Fichtner Resa has carried out a large part of its activities in the waste treatment sector and has developed a high degree of specialization in this field, with a large number of references in various services ranging from planning to the design and construction management of facilities, incorporating the most advanced and efficient waste treatment technologies available.

Circular Economy and Environmental Projects

Projects based on a sustainable, decarbonized, resource-efficient and competitive economy. The circular economy is one in which the value of products, materials and resources are retained in the economy for as long as possible, and in which waste generation is minimized.

  • Environmental impact studies
  • Master plans
  • Process-integrated environmental protection
  • Industrial planning
  • Dispersion studies
  • Fuel substitution
  • Industrial gas cleaning
  • Emissions reduction
  • Gas odor control and treatment
  • Energy recovery from industrial process gases
  • Special wastewater treatment
  • Potabilization of polluted water
  • Leachate treatment
  • Sludge treatment
  • Seawater desalination

Waste-to-Energy

Energy can be generated in the form of electricity, heat or fuel from the waste we produce. This is achieved through the use of waste-to-energy technologies that break down waste through a series of biochemical or thermal processes. This technology is used in waste-to-energy facilities where waste is first received, sorted and classified for further treatment.

  • Dispersion studies
  • Fuel substitution
  • Industrial gas cleaning
  • Emissions reduction
  • Gas odor control and treatment
  • Energy recovery from industrial process gases

Hydrogen

Renewable hydrogen, also known as green hydrogen, is an energy carrier derived from renewable sources that involves zero CO2 emissions. The use of renewable hydrogen is essential for decarbonization. At Fichtner Resa, we can draw on a wide range of experts in all hydrogen-related disciplines: energy economists, management consultants, and regulatory and permitting experts.

  • Sectoral hydrogen generation studies
  • Technical due diligence for the acquisition of renewable hydrogen assets
  • Feasibility studies for waste-to-hydrogen production (Waste-to-Wheels)
  • Feasibility studies for green hydrogen waste-to-energy plants

Biomethane

Biomethane, also known as renewable gas, is a fuel gas obtained from biogas, after the latter has undergone a purification or upgrading treatment. It can be injected into the gas grid to replace natural gas (it can be mixed with natural gas in any proportion) and distributed for both domestic and industrial consumption. This allows the use of existing infrastructures.

  • Retrofitting and expansion of biogas plants to biomethane
  • Owner’s engineering for biogas plants

Decarbonization and Renewable Energy

Decarbonization is a gradual process of reducing carbon emissions into the atmosphere. These emissions, mainly carbon dioxide, are a consequence of human activity and the way we produce our energy, as well as intensive livestock farming and agriculture. At Fichtner Resa, we help our clients to improve energy efficiency and to calculate and reduce the carbon emissions associated with an asset.

  • Solar thermal energy
  • Photovoltaic energy
  • Onshore wind energy
  • Offshore wind energy
  • Biomass

Technical Due Diligence

Due diligence is the process of investigating and technically auditing an asset in which an investment is sought, or which is to be acquired. It is a fundamental stage in any investor’s negotiations. This process seeks to minimize the risk of the transaction through a comprehensive analysis of the asset. This activity is carried out with the consent of the seller and without interfering with the seller’s operations.

  • Solar thermal energy
  • Photovoltaics
  • Onshore wind energy
  • Offshore wind energy
  • Biomass
